ATLANTA — Police are investigating after shots were reportedly fired outside a church during a funeral service on Tuesday.
The incident happened near the Workhouse of Faith Baptist Church located at 802 Pryor Street. Two cars were involved: a silver Dodge Avenger and a white sedan.
Police said passengers in the white sedan were shooting in the direction of the church.
One of the suspects’ vehicle had a baby inside, police said.
Police caught up with one of the cars at Lakewood Ave. and Conrad Ave. Suspects in that vehicle have been detained, police said.
The funeral was for Tiffany Bailey, who was killed last week. Her death is still being investigated. Police said one of their officers was asked to escort a man to the funeral, who was planning to turn himself in for circumstances surrounding Bailey’s death. Atlanta Police later arrested Deunte Grier for Bailey’s murder.
It’s unclear if the shooting was targeted, police said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in the Tuesday shooting.
